Synopsis
Losheng Sanatorium, Taiwan's only isolated hospital for leprosy patients. In the past, due to the lack of medical advancements and social panic, Taiwan government forced 1,000 patients into isolation. This condition lasted through the colonial government, the National government, the reformed democratic government. For 50 to 60 years, the patients have made Losheng their home, enduring a loss of their rights, and slowly fading from the society's notice. Now, they seemed to have walked out of their past, and into society. Yet, with the construction of the Hsin-Zhuang MRT (Mass Rapid Transit works, the government has once again asked 300 aged patients to move out of LoSheng, tearing it down for the purpose of economic benefits. In the face of authority, the patients persevere in life, voicing out for their homeland.
