Since 2016, members of SouthCircuit have been engaged in documentary filmmaking throughout the coastal and foothill regions of southern Taiwan, participating in local initiatives, art projects, and environmental issues on site. Through an ongoing process of filming, screening, and field research, we gradually came to understand that moving images are not merely a presentation of outcomes, but a mode of action that can be preserved, viewed, and continuously respond to reality. As our documentary practice accumulated and our collaborative networks expanded, SouthCircuit gradually evolved into an image-based collective, and further established itself as SouthCircuit Film/TV Production Co., Ltd. — an organizational foundation supporting long-term documentation, public collaboration, and audiovisual preservation.
