Sayun is a filmmaker from the Tayal Sqoyaw community in Taiwan. She graduated from the Department of Broadcasting and Television at the National Taiwan University of Arts. She began her career as a reporter at Indigenous TV, then transitioned to working as a documentary production coordinator at the International Department of Taiwan Public Television. In 2011, Sayun returned to her homeland to focus on telling stories rooted in her community. Her commitment to Indigenous storytelling led her to establish Taiwan’s first Indigenous Film Academy in August 2022, aiming to nurture a new generation of filmmakers and strengthen cultural narratives through film.
