LIN is an independent filmmaker. In 2011, his experimental short film I Love Edinburgh won the First Prize at Global Horizon Film Festival. The same year his short documentary Our Last Uni Days was commissioned by PTS and broadcasted in Taiwan. In 2012, his Takeaway was selected in Bridging the Gap commissioned by Scottish Documentary Institute (SDI). It had its premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival, and screened at Curt.doc Vidreres International Short Documentary Festival, Faito Doc Festival, and ReFrame Film Festival.
