Station to Station
- Memory
- Poverty
Synopsis
From living in An-Kung Community in Taipei to embarking on a trip to China, with conflicting emotions and identity engraved during that time, I was lost among the meanings of home and hometown. After accumulating and assembling materials for about a decade, a home was formed -- from images to images and station to station -- as was self-identity.
Director Statement
When I was young, I lived in the An-Kung community in Taipei with poverty. I moved out when I was older, but still feel astonished when the place was torn down. I found out that I had been living in a contradiction -- I was intimate with my home, but I also want to escape from it. On the other hand, I took a trip to China with my parents. This journey gave me a conflict of identity. I was lost between the meanings of “home” and “home town.” It was hard to remember where I came from.
