Synopsis
An offshore tuna fishing boat is about to depart from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Veteran Taiwanese crew leads a group of young sailors from China and Southeastern Asia ready to set sail for the Pacific Ocean to embark on a three-year fishing trip. As soon as the boat leaves the shore, the crew is cut off from the land, their families and even their newly born babies. They won’t be seeing each other for a long time.
These sailors repeat fishing works and live a monotonous life on board. At night, when looking at the full moon above the sea, the sailors will suddenly be overwhelmed by yearning and loneliness. To go to the sea is to build a better home, but they are adrift farther and farther away from shore. They are trapped at sea, caught between the dream to go home and the reality of being castaway.
