The 43-year-old protagonist grew up un a Taipei neighborhood where there are many gambling houses and brothels, a complicated environment where gangsters' chasing one another with knifes are a common scene for her. She met Lang, a young man from a rural fishing village and returned with him to his hometown to care for his father. Being repressed by the chauvinist norms in the village, the independent and outspoken woman slumped into depression. She faced the dilemmas of whether to accept the restraints or liberate herself from the shackles; to stay or to leave; to live or to die, and started her search on how to build and assert her own vales. A choice must be made on her own...
