Synopsis
Tsai Ruei-Yue was born in 1921.She displayed her dancing talent at a young age, and took dancing lessons in Tokyo at 16. She is the first Chinese to do folk dancing with tiptoes in Japan. According to the history of Taiwanese choreography, Ms Tsai developed the creative environment, resources and concept of modern dance, ballet, folk dance and theatrical performances. There are over five hundred documented work of hers left behind. As a doyen of the dancing world in Taiwan, Tsai Ruei-Yue’s life could be the source of material in the Taiwanese choreography history.
