Tea or Tree is a story about rebuilding and choosing.

The characters in this story have a different way of thinking regarding the relationship between humans and the earth, and that includes the practices involved in growing their tea. Typhoon Morakot had a significant impact on the people in this village. During the long process of rebuilding, there were many episodes of high expectations and frustration. Decisions have to be made in every step of the process. Some decisions were made with great resolve, but some people decided to do things only half-heartedly, or feeling helpless about it. There was much conflict and struggle in people’s hearts during the rebuilding process.

The central axis of the story is the every-day lives of the three main characters that the villagers would encounter during the rebuilding process. The two main features are the choosing of the house they will live in and its construction, as well as the balance between industry and ecology. We also observed that the three characters have wisdom and value which they had learned from the earth.
