Synopsis
Typhoon Morakot destroyed and blocked the road to Namasia in Southern Taiwan by landslide. The aboriginal people in Namasia were forced to leave their village and moved to Kaohsiung Renmei camp, the temporary shelter on the plain. “Kawsda” (means women’s nest or space) is an aboriginal womens’ non-profit organization in Namasia in Southern Taiwan. The workers in Kawsda are all grassroots women from the local village, who have tried their best to continue the culture class for the children after Typhoon Morakot, even though they left their home for a very long time. However, it is never an easy task. The female workers of NPO in a traditional tribe society confronted the challenges of learning organization work, gendered expectations and financial pressure.
