Director Statement
"My mother was once diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia. She experienced being committed to a psychiatric ward, taking medication and being labeled. I was once incapable to talk about her with others. Now, I contemplate why. I try to understand what caused her breakdown and what she went through. I often ask myself what more could I do if she was still alive. I believe we all know friends or even have family members that are “mad.” I believe it is a common but concealed experience that we are reluctant to share. I hope this film could create a little space and a little spark to help destigmatize mental illness." - KU Yun-Kang
