Synopsis
The bottom of the sixth inning, the last inning of a Little League game, is not only the most intense moment, but also a turning point of the game.
Eight years ago, Coach CHANG Mao-shan brought "baseball" into Fuyuan, a small village in eastern Taiwan. The Fuyuan Little League team has been regarded as a prominent team for the National League. However, in Coach CHANG’s mind, there is something more important than the results of a game.
This year, three players give Coach CHANG a hard time. One player nicknamed “A Little Fishing Port” always moves a bit slower than the rest of the team. The new captain, Ji Lu, has no authority over the team. The third one is a chubby child called Fi. Although they practice diligently, Coach CHANG’s discipline is both tough and demanding. After a hard summer’s training, Coach CHANG leads the children to challenge the last competition of the summer–Maple Leaf Baseball Championship.
Through baseball, the small village has changed – the children have matured, the parents have learnt to participate in their children’ lives. Coach CHANG has also gained courage from the children. He decides to try his new dream.
Do they stand a chance in winning the final victory? What is that “something” that is more important than the result of a game? Will the three players A Small Fishing Port, Ji Lu and Fi get through the competition and become real baseball players? The answers lie in THE TURN OF THE GAME.
