Message of K.T.'s Footsteps
- Family
Synopsis
Y.C, like most people, is a businessman. He didn't know much about his father's life outside the family, nor did he have any interest in learning more. His father-K.T-lived till the age of 92. He worked as a Civil Servant for the Taiwanese government-and is widely regarded as one of the key players in turning the country's economy into a ‘Little Dragon’, able to compete with other larger countries. Indeed, he was styled the Godfather of Taiwan's economic and technological success. K.T. rarely spent time at home and when he did he disclosed little of his outside life. A pleasant if somewhat distant relationship ensued between father and son over the years. However, all this changed when K.T. passed away and the director received an avalanche of sp letters expressing love and gratitude for the life of K.T. So overwhelmed was the director with this outpouring of affection that he decided to make a film about his father. He embarked on a long and emotional journey, coming into contact with those people who knew his father personally, culminating in a trip to America.
