Synopsis
The lead role in this film belongs to Shei-Ting, a Hakka woman who was born in the Town of Soong-Kou in Mei-Zho City, Mainland China. At her age of 27, she was married to a man who came to China for an arranged marriage in just one week without any concern to the objections of her family. She then began a life harder than her life in China, which was beyond her imagination. The hard labor and her work experience in these past six years up until today (2003) are all absolutely new experiences for her. This hardship didn't rout her and her family; on the contrary, through the help and cooperation with other similar families, they strove to find a stable income for their lives.
This film try to express the indomitable spirit of perseverance and expectations of the people of this land through documenting Mrs. Shei-Ting, and to show that the success of a family not only has to do with our own attitude about our lives, but that it also has a lot to do with the collaboration and the love among families that live in a community.
