Synopsis

This film was shot at two different times. The early part was shot while Kuo was visiting Ching-wen who at the time was rebuilding a home for his parents. At that time the film wasn’t necessarily going to be made into a documentary. However, later Kuo received sufficient funding for the project to go ahead, but it was too late, Ching-wen had already left the island over financial issues and had headed to Taipei to work. The later part of the filming was done when Kuo revisited the Orchid Island with his camera. This time though the main character, Ching-wen, has no longer there to appear on the camera, except in recollections of the times when they had shared memories together.
