How Deep is the Ocean is a story about self-exploration and re-discovering the essence of being. Director TANG shiang-Chu and his Dawunese friend Mamuno come from vastly different backgrounds, but they share the same passion for the ocean, We see what Mamuno's life is like as a Dawunese, and we see Tang's intent of finding the origin of his own life. The inseparable relationship between man and nature is observed, Through Mamuno's experience of returning to his origin, and Tang's examination of his own life, the film shows how the two interact with and care for each other in a true brotherly way.
