An Chu holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University in New York. He was selected for both the Golden Horse Film Academy and the Locarno Filmmakers Academy. His short films Tuo Tuo and The Stag won Best Short Film at the Sundance Asia Film Festival and the Jury Award for International Fiction Short at the Sundance Film Festival. The Stag and Paper Houses and Horses were selected for the short film competitions at Visions du Réel and IDFA. He is currently developing his debut feature film, Game of Replacing Gods.
