Director Statement
In 2015, a three-month trip in the Mekong River opened my curiosity about how Taiwanese live and work in Southeast Asia. Taiwan is not far from the Indochina Peninsula. However, we know not much about this area. We might recognize the locations of Tokyo, New York, and Paris, but we don’t know where Yangon is. Unfamiliarity could make misunderstanding and fear, and destroy the relationship of trust. In this filming journey, through the main characters of the film from different cultural backgrounds, we can see that each of them has different values and beliefs. On the way to pursue the dream of success, we can understand more from each other.
