Xi Xi, the pseudonym of CHEUNG Yin, was born in Shanghai in 1937 and has lived in Hong Kong since 1950. During the 1960s, she worked as a film scriptwriter and was prolific in film criticism and theory. Her works are known for their splendour and variety, with each having a distinct characteristic of its own; critics note that her novels‘are always on the forefront of the avant-garde’. Her notable works include My City, Hand Scroll, and Elegy for a Breast.
