Synopsis
Taunted in primary school for not being able to speak Mandarin, LIN Jin-xian later became a teacher of the Taiwanese language and a scholar of regional cultural history. But the fate of a substitute teacher is that of a drifter, and his in-depth research in cultural history no longer has practical application. LIN looks back on his life and realises that he is like a stray dog, with an unknown future.

Director Statement
How to evaluate a person's achievements? A diligent office worker, the street vendors peddling vegetable in the morning markets, or the scavengers who collect empty bottles for a meagre income? How we can evaluate the achievements of these people? Even stray dogs, their strong vitality shouldn't be underestimated! After all, to live in this snobbish and competitive modern society, all require great courage.
