Synopsis
The story of this film occurred on the night of January 13, 2006 when John stayed over at his grandfather’s and was found dead next morning. After the rescue attempt failed, John’s family put their sorrow aside and decided to donate his body and organs within a short period of time. This film documents the incidents after John’s death and redefines the value and meaning of life. John’s family supported and consoled each other as they transformed the sorrow caused by his death into the power to continue living and a deeper understanding of life.
By filming the processes for body donation and utilization, burial, and cremation, this film tells the story of how John’s family faced his sudden death and transformed their sorrow by donating his body and organs as a form of life expansion, the main theme of this film.
During the filming process, the film maker understood the importance of donated bodies and organs to medical education. Cadavers are not only the silent mentors in professional medical education but brave volunteers that help to cultivate the medical skills of students with a spirit of humanitarianism through their sacrifice and contribution to human medical studies.
