Synopsis
“Lord Buddha, I’ve come to Bodh Gaya, not for my own intentions, but for the countless others. Whatever their troubles, protect them. Protect the 72 families in our village; protect my father, who is already 84. Please watch over him for the next three years. I will go back within three years.”
JIANG BA comes from Tibetan Sichuan. He’s always had one wish, to make a pilgrimage to India. This journey reunites him with his childhood companion, also a lama, whom he last saw 14 years earlier. This film is about their friendship and the lamas’ intense devotion to the Tibetan Buddhist ritual known as full prostration.
